Reporting to the Cyrus Sr. Network Engineer, the Mid-Level Network Engineer provides technical support and advice to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity Project Planning, Investments & Governance (PPI-Gov) Program. Responsibilities may include: Planning and coordinating the installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) Environment (i.e., software and related enterprise-level changes to the systems infrastructure.) Travel to several facilities throughout the United States as needed to interact with various business, technical, and functional stakeholders.Perform day to day upkeep of the tool to include software and hardware application deployment, configuration/management, maintenance, patches, upgrades, backup, disaster recovery and integration with other network management tools. Writing and maintaining all policies within the ISE solution, deploying Cisco ISE Nodes, Setup Cisco ISE Management Access, Manage Users and End User Portals, Enable and Configure Cisco ISE services, and Monitor and Troubleshoot.Monitoring and troubleshooting systems availability.Recovering data in the event of hardware or software failure.Ensuring upgrade of current versions of supported software as they become available.Scheduling downtime to minimize user impact.Monitoring ISE appliance performance using performance monitoring tools.Correcting security vulnerabilities in ISE systems in response to problems identified in Vulnerability reports.Communicating TrustSec technical requirements by preparing and presenting briefings to IRS management on various ISE issues.Evaluating the effectiveness of the ISE installed systems and services (Health Checks).Providing advice on and devising solutions to a wide range of ISE issues.Receiving, tracking and responding to help center calls to ensure resolutions are identified and completed; documenting the actions taken; providing needed guidance and / or training to customers to prevent recurrences; and assisting IRS specialists in resolving problems.Analyzing requests for modifications of existing ISE environment and determining how the ISE system should be configured based on the desired change.Ensuring the integration of ISE programs and services and developing solutions for integration/interoperability issues.Designing, developing, and managing ISE network services to meet current and future business requirements, as well as, applying, extending, enhancing, or optimizing the existing architecture to meet those requirements. Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess the following: B.S./B.A. Engineering, Network Security Management, Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in engineering, information assurance, network/data management, etc. Knowledgeable of the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP). Familiar with network configurations and maintenance, diagnostics and troubleshooting, and network analysis tools. The ability to work independently or with different teams to achieve stated objectives. Demonstrated experience directly speaking with customers or via email and phone to capture initial requirements. Demonstrated experience in making tactical and strategic decisions at every level of an organization from the entry level engineer position to top management. Strong technical and analytical skills and ability to communicate technical status to the government customer. Strong knowledge of NIST, FISMA, OMB, Presidential Directives and Executive Orders, and Cybersecurity and Privacy industry best practices. Strong knowledge of the System Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) Process, as well as, the continuous monitoring methodology. Proficient understanding of common Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Internet Explorer, and Visio) and an expert user in the Microsoft Office tools.Confident communicator (verbal/written) and possess excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills. Desired Qualifications: M.S./M.B.A. degree. Engineering Certification (e.g.; CCNA, CCNA-Security). Cisco certifications (e.g.; CCDP, CCNP, or CCIE). Successful candidates MUST be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance and be a US Citizen.
