Learn more about HR Anew at We are seeking an experienced federal Career Coach/EEO Specialist to support a part time opportunity (3 days per week) working at a Federal client location in Washington, DC. Summary of Role and Responsibilities HR Anew is seeking the support of a Career Coach/EEO Specialist to assist a federal client with establishing a Wounded Warrior Integration Program (WWIP). The person in this position shall work in collaboration with EEO Specialists to provide policy guidance and standards to ensure that each agency has an effective Wounded Warrior, disability, and reasonable accommodation (RA) program. The client's policy and manual sets forth specific requirements and benchmarks for all covered major commands, to include the identification of barriers that impede inclusion and competition in the workplace for individuals with disabilities, and detail steps to be taken to accommodate an employee or applicant for employment, when requested. The analysis shall be performed to identify and obtain evidence from all relevant sources and gather sufficient information to identify barriers to inclusion, and competition, to formulate recommendations for barrier elimination, and to compile a report outlining all findings and recommendations. The person in this position shall convene and facilitate a Wounded Warrior Working group for initial stand-up. The Career Coach/EEO Specialist with assistance from the working group will create a charter and define program milestones; identify sponsor organizations (i.e., N9, N4, DNS-3, etc.); identify, validate, and maintain awareness of available opportunities for Wounded Warriors, Veterans, and Individuals with Targeted Disabilities (IWTD). Connect to and enhance existing candidate pipeline. Educate hiring officials at all levels. Define success criteria; leverage existing DoD veterans' internship programs; and pilot internship placement activities. Support the Wounded Warrior Program participant growth and learning with regular communication strategies. Develop and implement mentoring approach for both management and interns in the program. The person in this position shall also help employees reach their full potential and make well-informed decisions in planning their careers while maximizing their contributions to the client organization. Participants in the program shall have the opportunity to explore their career goals and develop career plans to prepare them for career opportunities and challenges while recognizing their responsibilities and factors that can lead to career success. Career coaching services may be delivered in-person, via telephone, and/or via some other form of enhanced communication technology such as Skype. This position is bound to strict confidential standards as outlined in the Codes of Ethics promulgated by the National Career Development Association (NCDA) and the American Counseling Association (ACA). These organizations express a code that states, "confidentiality is a cornerstone of the counseling relationship" and stipulate that career coaches must uphold this standard except in extreme situations such as imminent danger, life-threatening diseases, and court-ordered disclosure. This position is required to make every effort to ensure that privacy and confidentiality of clients are maintained by other staff members connected to the WWIP, and that such disclosures must be kept to an absolute minimum. Primary Responsibilities ? Serve as the principal advisor to management to help identify and eliminate barriers impacting the recruitment, advancement, and retention of persons with disabilities. ? Implement and manage the program in accordance with applicable executive orders, regulations, and policies. ? Serve as the primary point of contact and be responsible for supporting the client's Reasonable Accommodation Program. This includes receiving and processing reasonable accommodation requests from employees and applicants for employment. ? Provide technical advice and guidance to managers and supervisors on the processing of reasonable accommodation requests. ? Facilitate the procurement of assistive technologies through the Computer/Electronic Accommodation Program (CAP) and coordinate all associated procurement activities. ? Review, analyze, and evaluate internal policies, procedures, and practices in order to identify the existence of possible discriminatory factors affecting persons with disabilities in the work force. ? Participate in the development of the agency's Disability Employment Program Plan (MD-715) and monitor/evaluate program implementation as applicable to employees with disabilities. ? Assist in the counseling of people with disabilities about career opportunities and encourages them to participate in self-development and continuing education. ? Communicate to management, employees, and community organizations information that will enhance the employment of people with disabilities. ? Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, affinity groups, and professional organizations to assist in targeted recruitment efforts that support the Federal Equal Opportunity Recruitment Program (FEORP). ? Ensure that recruitment tools (brochures, materials, application processes and procedures, etc.) are 504 and 508 compliant. ? Develop and implement special community outreach programs for persons with disabilities and disabled veterans at colleges, universities, and private organizations for the purpose of attracting qualified applicants for employment. ? Identify and train appropriate personnel in the barrier analysis process. ? Provide EEO dashboard metrics (including MD715, case management, RA's, Individuals with Targeted Disabilities (IWTD's), etc.). ? Be the Wounded Warrior Integration Program (WWIP) Manager/Lead (Assist with the stand up of new Disability Program for the client). ? Educate WWIP hiring officials at all levels. ? Scale internship program across and beyond Pentagon-based client organizations. Connect participants to external resources. Observe and report return on investment. ? Develop sustainment plan. Transition working group efforts to appropriate organization for continued management and execution. ? Provide weekly/monthly progress reports for the tasks performed to summarize the results of work performed, work in progress, deliverable status, staffing plan, problems encountered and recommendations. The reports shall also identify the contractor's plans and schedule for accomplishing contract requirements in the next month to include projected travel requirements, if any. JOB REQUIREMENTS ? Outstanding client relations - ability to successfully engage with and influence a diverse group of client stakeholders is essential. ? Must be accountable, consistent, and have diligent work ethics. ? Accurate, detail oriented, excellent follow through, timely, reliable, self-starter, proactive, and a team player. ? Able to successfully work as an individual and as a part of a team. ? Able to handle sensitive and confidential issues involving internal and external customers. ? Work requires continual attention to detail in creating and proofing documents, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines. ? Must have exploration, research, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.Critical thinking skills to analyze and proactively question and offer recommendations.Demonstrate professionalism, political savvy, and skills to multi-task with assignments. ? Project management skills to work, lead, or manage a project with a diverse team that may include clients as well as HR Anew management and staff. ? Expert skills and thoroughly familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; as well as other office technologies. ? Experience administering assessments to include Myers Briggs Type Indicators, Strong Interest Inventory, and other career assessment tools. QualificationsMaster's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training, Psychology, Business, or related field.3-5 Years' experience in Federal Career Coaching and/or EEO services.Excellent written communications skills with the ability to draft correspondences free from error.Must be able to function in a multi-task environment - as part of a team and individually.Must have integrity and a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential issues involving all internal and external customersMust be able to provide continual attention to detail in creating, proofing, and editing documents; as well as can establish priorities and meet or perform in advance of timelines.Analytical and research skills required.
